No one in the Colony hands out skill for free, but the right person will take your learning points and turn them into muscle, aim, or a grasp of the runes. These are the trainers of every camp: who raises your attributes, who drills you in arms and magic, and exactly where to find them.

Leveling and Learning Points

Levels are only the doorway. Each one you gain hands you learning points, and those points are the currency that actually shapes the hero. Nothing is poured into stats for free: you carry your points to a trainer and pay them out, sometimes alongside a measure of ore, to buy raw attributes and hard skills.

  • Experience pushes your level up, and every level grants the learning points that all real growth is bought with.
  • You never sprinkle stats around yourself. A trainer raises an attribute or skill in exchange for learning points, and a few lessons also cost ore.
  • Lean on Strength and Dexterity early; around twenty of each is a comfortable opening goal, since both feed your damage and open up better gear.
  • Stronger foes pay out more experience, so every point sunk into damage makes the next level arrive faster.
  • For quick experience, take escort work where your guard clears the path, sweep the side jobs of every camp, and pick off threats at range with a bow.
  • One-Handed is the friendliest combat skill to start with, and it climbs hand in hand with your Strength.
